Learn More About Salt Brine/Resin And Acid Neutralization Tank Cleaning

I had a college friend who always complained about the shower in our dorms because she said the hard water was bad for her hair. Back then, I really had no clue what she was talking about, but it’s quite relevant for today’s post. If you’re not familiar with the terms soft water and hard water, let me explain. Basically, soft water is natural like rainwater, and hard water has higher concentrations of minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Soft water is preferable because it is potable, better for your plumbing and will create better soap suds. So how do you “soften” water? One way is to use salt brine or salt resin.

How Does That Work?
Household water passes through a resin bed filled with negatively charged ions, and the positively charged calcium and magnesium ions stick to them. These are then replaced with awesome sodium ions, creating that soft water we all want to get spotless dishes and nice hair. Water softeners use a brine tank to create the salt solution needed for this treatment to take place. Eventually, these tanks need to be cleaned out.

This Is Where We Come In
Brine tanks and other containments such as acid neutralization tanks require our hy vac services to properly clean them and make them safe for customers. In an acid neutralization tank, limestone is used to filter corrosive and harmful chemicals from wastewater. Every two or three months, the limestone loses its ability to function effectively so the sludge, debris, and other material must be cleaned out. We come in with our large and powerful vacuums designed to remove solids, liquids, and sludge from these and other large tanks.

There’s no job too big for our industrial hy vac trucks, and our experts here at Kline’s are ready to help. You can count on us to clean and maintain your brine and acid neutralization tanks, or Contact Us to see if our hy vac services are suitable for your other waste maintenance needs.
